Beal at TFL STARS Top Schools event.

On Tuesday 5th December 2017 Beal High School were invited to London’s City Hall, to attend the TFL STARS Top Schools event.  Mr Goss, Rebekah Durrant (9PR), and Serge Liburd-Jones (8GO) went on behalf of Beal to collect the prestigious award of STARS School of the Region 2017.  In context this award recognises the work the school has done to improve sustainable, active, responsible, safe travel.  Out of all of the Secondary Schools in East London – we are 2017’s best!

We had a great day taking in the sites the City of London has to offer, and were fortunate enough to listen to some inspirational speeches.  Speeches and awards were handed out by Shirley Rodrigues (Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy) and Dr. William Norman (Walking and Cycling Commissioner) respectively.

Rebekah and Serge represented school fantastically well and are now enthused to get back to work on the London Mayor’s Air Quality Project and many other travel related initiatives.
