Key Stage 4 Examination Results 2016

Following on from last week’s exceptional and best ever A Level results, we are delighted and immensely proud to announce that we have replicated these outstanding outcomes with our best ever GCSE results to date despite the significant decline nationally.

Our phenomenal students have surpassed their predicted outcomes and have achieved over 77% for our combined English and Mathematics. This is an increase of over 9% on last year. Mathematics achieved their highest ever A*- C with 81%, an increase of 5% on last year and English sustained their exceptional track record achieving 80% A*- C.

We have also achieved our highest ever 5 or more A* – C including English and Mathematics, which is currently sitting at over 72%. These results are more than 12% better than those of last year and are likely to increase further over the next few weeks.

In both English and Mathematics over 26% of our students achieved either an A* or A grade. This is an increase of 9% for English and just over 6% for Mathematics. Almost 60% of our students achieved either an A*, A or B grade in Mathematics. The number of our students achieving more than expected levels of progress (4 levels) has also significantly increased by over 12% for Mathematics and 3% for English to 54% and 43% respectively.

We are also delighted to report that we have achieved our best ever A*/A grade total of 22% – once again despite a decline with these grades nationally. This is an 8% increase on 2015.  In addition, we have achieved our best ever English Baccalaureate (EBACC) results. This is the combined qualification of English, Mathematics, two Sciences, a language and a humanity. The results currently sit at 40%, an increase of over 11%.
