Science Week 2020 did not fail to impress! The Science department ran a variety of exciting and intriguing activities such as the Science Spelling Bee, Science Fair, Science Debate and the Science Bake-Off.

The week started with an intense Science Spelling Bee competition by our brilliant Year 8 students, where literacy of key scientific words were demonstrated.

Science Spelling Bee results:
Adyan SAFIR 8HH – 1st Place
Simak Ahmed 8HH – 2nd Place
Farha Rahman 8RS – 3rd Place

This was followed by the Science Fair, with an array of fun filled experiments, Science Staff Stem profiles and an extraordinary photo booth.

Then sixth form students took centre stage with a Science Debate on ‘The threat of coronavirus is no more real than that of the common flu’.
Their eloquence, vivid facts and views about coronavirus were truly amazing! The winning team supported the argument.

The finale was the spectacular ‘Science Bake-Off’, where students across all key stages demonstrated awesome creativity and baking skills, resulting in delicious tasting cakes!
