After a wonderful trip to Newnham College at Cambridge University, I have to say it was one of the best trips ever since the start of the pandemic. A wonderful community, meeting worldwide international students and getting an understanding of life at one of the world’s most famous and prestigious Universities. The group was given a full insight to the College’s subjects and courses that they offer, a wide range of finance options that the University provides, the entire process of applying to Oxbridge, a full list of tips and tricks for what interviewers are looking for within students and much more. We had the opportunity to meet and talk with one of the PhD students at Newnham College, whilst we also had a great tour of the college as well as experiencing the city life of Cambridge.
However, the most important thing from this trip is what I can take back and learn from it: there is a lot of independence and a lot of work that has to be put in, some say you have to treat it like a 9-5 job, the constant pressure and hard work that goes in to an application but the experience and the enjoyment of University mustn’t be forgotten; it can be a fun and memorable place for many, but be sure to have a healthy work balance! Despite its competitiveness, I would put Cambridge University in my top three list when applying to Universities to hopefully study and practice dentistry. I would recommend this wonderful University to anyone looking to study at such a famous institution.
